Below are 5 different ways we use get in everyday speech:

1.GET = RECEIVE

"Did you get my text?" = Did you receive my text?

2.GET = BECOME (emotion / physical change)

"He got really annoyed when I was late" = He became really annoyed when I was late

3.GET = ARRIVE

"What time did you get home last night?" = What time did you arrive home last night?

4.GET = ACHIEVE POINTS / SCORE

"I got an A in the exam!" = I achieved an A in the exam

5.GET = BUY

"Could you get some milk on your way home?" = Could you buy some milk on your way home?
